dj-matthew-1626-mMore Than 12 is a small, developing, alternative Christian community for people who dig Jesus and the Bible, and for those who are exploring, but may not into with conventional church.   Our worship services have elements of a party or concert, in a non-traditional and non-religious setting.  No church buildings, hymn books, organs, pews to make your butt sore, or religiousity to give you a headache!  We’re not into cheese, pretending to be perfect, ugly politics, “holier than thou” attitudes, forcefulness or condemning – check those at the door, or you show yourself to the door.  Tattoos, piercings,  and crazy hair styles are not an issue within this spiritual community.  Addictions and mistakes in life are part of everyone’s journey.  Come as you are!

Lead Pastor Jeff Wong

Meeting at The Wise Hall, a venue similar to what you'd go to for a party or small concert, our definition of church is not the building or institution, but the people who make up the community.  Someone will greet you at the door, and you're welcome to sit at a table, find some people to chat with, or hang out in an open space.  A DJ spins some beats as a free dinner is served.  From there we transition into a time of worship, where one of our bands made up of people from our community will lead with a fusion of rock-pop, electronic, and hiphop.  Pastor Jeff, or another speaker provides a short, relevant, inspiring Bible-based talk, followed by a time when those who want to may respond to the portion of the Bible presented in the talk, respond to the Gospel, or receive prayer.

It might be one of the best sellers of all time, but it's also one of the hardest books to understand.  However, it's full of gold nuggets from God that give direction in life, kind of like a spiritual Google map.  We're into relevance and real spiritual experiences when it comes to faith in Jesus.  We're not into religion for the sake of following an institution or a tradition.

We're pretty easy going group and want everyone to feel welcome.  Our people come from a variety of background, with dress and style that's pretty laid back, so if you like to wear jeans that great and if you like to dress up a bit more that's okay too.  Tattoos and piercing, no problem.  Struggles with addictions, that's okay too.  Mistakes in life, we all make them, welcome to the journey.  All we're to do is love God, and love others.

We also see cultural and racial diversity as something God created to be celebrated.  God encourages all people of the nations to come together in His name, not be apart.  Many churches in Metro Vancouver tend to gravitate towards one group of people, and that's fine, but we want to reflect something more representative of the people in the area.
