As a community, we believe the very nature of God is relationship--He is a Trinity of relationship: Father, Son and Holy Spirit. The Bible teaches that God created us in his image (Genesis 1:27), and part of that nature is that we are relational. We were designed to live life through great relationships. They have huge benefits, but when we lack them or have unhealthy ones it leads to loneliness, depression, lack of accountability, lack of support, and sometimes even abuse.
For this reason, many within our More Than 12 community make room in their busy lives to meet weekly (Hebrews 10:25) in homes or restaurants throughout Metro Vancouver, in what we call Growth Groups. They gather for friendship, encouragement, support, Bible study and prayer. Our Growth Groups are our primary means for spiritual relationships and mutual discipleship. You will meet new friends, you can bring your own friends who need to be rooted in a spiritual community that suits them, or who want to explore who Jesus and what that means for life. Everyone in our Growth Groups are real people with qualities and experiences to celebrate, as well as real life problems in life, who are seeking to grow. They are either exploring Christian spirituality, or are growing in their understanding and practice. Each group is slightly different in its emphasis, personality, and demographic.
Below is a list of our Growth Groups, to help you find one for yourself or friends and family who may be seeking. Contact info for the leader of each group is also there, so you can find out what the group is like, and comfirm a good time for you to check it out. If the group suits you, great, and if not, no problem. Check out one of the other groups, until you find one that best suits what you're looking for. Or consider hosting a new group.
